I hate stupid chocolate...
...but I decided to make chocolate chocolate chip cookies anyway because I thought Ben and Brian would enjoy it. It came from a recipe from Rosie's Cookie Book. Rosie's Bakery are the wonderful people who baked my wedding cake over 19 years ago when I lived in Cambridge MA. It is a wonderful place.
But these cookies sucked. Yes, they were chocolaty and yes, they had a wonderful light and fluffy texture. But they had no soul. Brian and Ben ate them but they missed the old southern chocolate chip recipe that Brian's grandma baked throughout his childhood.
I would not usually take the time to write about this stuff but there were so many dam steps to this recipe and I was so friggin diligent. Plus I don't like chocolate. It brings me down. Well...unless it's chocolate chip mint ice cream.

As a chocolate lover/addict absolutely none of this post made any sense to me. Like another language. I only speak chocolate, it seems.
Well..you just proved to me that we are in no way related to each other. My life revolves around chocolate. In fact I don't know why candy companies even bother making the sour chewy stuff.
Sorry for your frustration. I have made elaborate recipes before that have most certainly not been worth my effort. After one, we actually called for pizza....yes, it was that bad.
I'm still processing this. You don't like chocolate. I don't think I've ever heard words formed into a sentence like that before.
I've got to tell you -- those cookies look delicious -- all chocolately and melty. Makes my knees weak.
I was going to rag on you for not liking chocolate, evi, but I see there's already a pile up going on. Besides, not liking chocolate is punishment enough.
However, your post demonstrates one more reason I tend to gravitate toward less complicated recipes. That way, if it doesn't turn out as well as I thought it should, I don't feel so cheated.
I don't hate chocolate but I don't like it as much as I used to. Love dark chocolate and chocolate chip cookie batter - but generally don't like the cookies. And I like a good chocolate cake. And mint chocolate. Just bought some Andes chips and am trying to decide what to do with them.
Milk chocolate is not my favorite and hot cocoa is not tops on my list anymore.
There truly is nothing worse than a chocolate dessert looking good, smelling wonderful and tasting flat. Oh, the horror of it all.
And please, never, ever say "I hate stupid chocolate"
:)
